SFF (ARIA) config..

After much consideration, I am going with a SFF system.

Case: ARIA $99

CPU: Athlon 64 3200+ retail $282
RAM: OCZ EL 2x512 pc-3200 $248
HDs: (1) Raptor 74gb $215
(1) WD WD2500jb (add a rounded ide cable) $191
Old system componets: Radeon 9500pro, dvd burner, floppy, etc $0

Total including shipping to NYC: $1150 All from newegg

How well will this setup work?
Suggestion on component changes.

Looks good, except I think you would be wasting your money on that OCZ EL 3200DDR. Timings make very little difference to A64 performance, particularly for gaming, so if running stock speed get a couple sticks of the Buffalo 512MB DDR PC-3200 w/ Samsung Module $93 a stick and use that $60+ for something else. If planning to overclock I'd grab a couple sticks of the ADATA 4000DDR for $105.50 a stick because that way unless your A64 does better than 2.5ghz you won't have to worry about using a divider and it's still cheaper than the EL.

That is going to be one noisy little ah heck, but performance wise very nice setup.

I don't think that zalman will fit. There is a power supply on top of the CPU.
If I were you get the retail and you will have 3 year warranty and the fan that comes with cpu is pretty quiet.

You will have to make sure the socket isn't too close to the PSU, but as long as the whole zalman fits under the raised part in the PSU, it will fit. GamePC used oen in their review.

Yup, it fits, got one in my aria. Working with some gaming issues that may be heat related. Running an Asus board with a gig of ram and a Radeon 9800 pro.

I checked the reviews and the same setup m.b, case and hsf setup.. the zalman
will fit. Hopefully this thing won't be too noisy. Should be getting components by
monday. we'll see.
