SFC

so ive got a machine with some corrupt files...i think a good run of SFC will solve the problem, but i cant get it to run with recovery console or bartPE...does anyone know how to get it to run outsite of windows?

I think you would be better off doing a repair install of XP as per the instructions at:

http://www.michaelstevenstech.com/XPrepairinstall.htm

Just be sure to make a backup of all important files ahead of time using Bart's PE and copying to an external drive or by a ghost image. Good luck!
