SF Cop shoots wheelchair moron with knife

"The 10:15 a.m. shooting at 10th and Howard streets began when officers were summoned to the San Francisco Department of Public Health building at 1380 Howard St., where a man apparently had been slashing tires on parked cars, witnesses say.

Police first used pepper spray to subdue the suspect, who at one point got out of his chair and walked around, Gascón said. While trying to control the suspect, one of the plainclothes officers who initially responded to the call was stabbed, police said. It was several minutes later before more police arrived at the scene. "

Sounds to me like the guy was trying to commit "Suicide by Cop."
 
He was suspected of stabbing a fellow officer as well, and then threw something at them/did something it looked like.

Who said anybody was shooting with a knife you moron?

The idiot was walking around, had a knife, stabbed an officer, committed other acts of vandalism, and was even sprayed and warning shot with a beanbag, and he still resisted, so he was shot. Not hard to get through that thick skull buddy.

Also the guys hands were up when they shot, and they continued to shoot as he tried to WHEEL, not run away from them.

That is the reason the police in San Francisco do not have Tazers.
Maybe if you took the time to look into the subject you would know the facts surrounding the issue.

The police chief want them. The police commission (made up of civilians) says he can't have them.

I hate to agree with patraeus, but locally we have the same issue with Tazers.

My local black community complained they would just taser every african american in town 🙄 and lobbied against it so the city council shot it down.

If I do a search for "progressives" by user, you come up with 177 responses. Out of interest, every other poster in this thread comes back with zero results combined. You have an obsession with progressives, and you bring it up in almost every post you make.
 
Well, without tazers, I would say the cops did the right thing. The guy had a deadly weapon, had already stabbed someone. What else are they supposed to do? Put down their guns and say "oh, we give up!".

Non-lethal force would have been ideal, however, when it comes right down to it I would rather see this nutjob dead than see him hurt another innocent person.
