What's going on .. who has service and who doesn't.

I'm in Sunnyvale and my RCA cable modem syncs but doesn't get dhcp (top 2 lights solid now , blinking 1 before today). I have not receieved a phone call, but when entering my zip code into the website I am greeted with an indication that the transition is complete.

well my sister has ATT@home (orig comcast) and she's got an outage in folsom... she's thinking about switching to DSL now for her new place

I'm in Fremont, got a motorola modem, all lights solid except 'online' when online blinks on, activity light on also

tried power resetting and whatnot many times, still no go (connecting via a router)

Pleasanton - Was able to get onto the network last night. Email address is up and working.

Yup. I just got on last night...it was kind of a surprise actually...my roommate's computer boots up with AIM on and his buddy list just popped up.

We both yelled like little schoolgirls 🙂

Back up here in Pleasanton, but I'm EXTREMELY TICKED OFF with the capped download speed!!! My download speeds have gone from approx. 400kbps to 140kbps, a 65% drop-off! Stupid AT&T, I can't stand them, but what else are you going to do?

I had the same problem.
I changed my routers setting to DHCP and was directed to a website. It asked me download a small utility which I did and ran it.
Restarted my machine and it started working.

Hope this helps.

You guys are lucky. I'm in CT and according to the news on their website. I'm the last to get connected. Has the speed drop that much ? if it is I'm switching to DSL.
Do I have to reset anything when it comes back on ? or it will reset it automatically .

I didn't have to run any special utility. I was already set on DHCP so that didn't make a difference for me (I guess). I haven't tested DL speeds, but I'm not big into DLing anyway.

Was up and running in San Leandro when I got up yesterday morning.

Currently running at 1165Kbps down/74Kbps up according to DSL Reports speed test.

<< I heard they are up in Fremont. >>

unfortunately we aren't (at least in south/south central) i got the phone call at ~1pm and waited patiently but lights on modem still blinking and such, no dhcp detection needless to say

this light on/off scenario's been the same since yesterday early afternoon, so no changes noticed as yet 🙁

hopefully prices won't rise as well, according to the other thread, supposedly $1 monthly regardless whether own modem or not

i'm in the same situation monto. I'm in south east berkeley, and my modem's been blinking here and there for a while, i've gotten the call, but nothing yet

Marin County, and I got the call today, and was baffled as to why things weren't working. I finally realized it was due to having static IP's. So now I'm set up with DHCP which blows since I actually payed $4.95 a month extra for 2 static IP's.

Does anyone know if ATT Broadband allowd for static IP's?

So what's the deal with DHCP? Previous to this crash I was configured with a specific IP address. Has that changed? Do I change my router to look for DHCP?

Reporting from St. Helena (Napavalley)

I've just about had it with this new "network" ATT has switched me to. My download speeds are down about 60-65% too and I get frequent pauses in connectivity.
What a bunch of crap!. If they are gonna cut my bandwidth by 65%, my bill oughtta be cut by the same amount. I think we're being reamed on here. This service ain't worth $50 a month.🙁
