Hi
I posted this over at the corsair support forums, but didn't get the answer I wanted, so:
Does anyone have any detailed info about the performance or memory layout of the corsair force 3 180GB?
I found that the 120 gb model uses 16 nand devices with one die each and that the 240gb model also has 16 devices, but each device has two dies(similar to the ocz agility series). This does seem to have an impact on the performance of the drives. In both these cases there is exactly 2 devices per channel in the controller, and all the nand devices are identical. But since 192GB is not a power of 2, the layout of the 180GB model does not seem as obvious.
Should I be worried that the layout might be non-ideal?(e.g. only uses 6 of the channels or something)
