Yep, I agree. The one that jumps to mind is Band of Brothers.

There was NO need to show the sex scene in the 8th episode. In fact, it seemed totally out of place.

Why is it there?

Or the sex scene at the start of Three Kings. It served no purpose either.

HOW DARE YOU TALK ILL OF BAND OF BROTHERS! HAVE AT YOU! :swordfight;

😉

I'm a little uneasy at the idea of you talking aboyt "swordfights" in a sex scene thread.

Watch the Blake Edwards movie "Skin Deep". It's more like a light saber battle in a sex scene.

What??? BoB was to show an accurate depiction of what those soldiers went through. In the towns they liberated they were "thanked" many ways. A LOT of them got some action.

There was no reason to show the scene as they showed it. It was pointless and gratuitous.

If i saw a sex scene in "the gods must be crazy" i would throw up.

I'm amagining them w/ their clicking language...

If things go well, I'll show her my !oh face

!oh !oh !oh

Personally I think there should be more sex scenes in movies and TV. Take the news for example, after the anchorwoman reads off some bad news she should immediately start making out with the weather guy to lighten the mood.

the worse ones are the pointless sex scenes that do not show anything other than the actors'/actresses' back.
Or the equally cheesy body double.

there used to be a site where the chicks would get naked while they read the news. can't remember what it's called and i dunno if it's still around, but it was pretty cool. naked news i think? i dunno.

Do you think in today movies, there are too much sex scene?

In some movie, the sex scene just seem to be thrown in for the heck of having a sex scene. Why? (one movie I remember is "Monster Ball") It just don't go with the storyline.

And when is sex scene become too much? In some movies, they goes as far as showing a rape scene.

Some of the movies I saw that has no sex:
The last Samurai
The Gods must be crazy

Add Lost in Translation to that. It was a pleasant change.

I think lots of movies have pointless sex scenes. What exactly did it add to "Matrix Reloaded" for example. (Not that it's a good movie anyway).

Ugh...the cave rave just before that, combined with the sex scene, made for the worst 10 min of film I've viewed in the last 10 years.

Organic reloaded versus digital, mechanical matrix.

Or George Clooney's ass. That is by far the worst.

There are far worse things than George's ass.. like your face 🙂

..or like the rest of the movie.

While there are definitely movies where the scene (either a sex scene or nudity) are just thrown in, I think there are other movies where the sex scene is very integral in explaining the emotions of the character.

It is funny you mention Monster Ball. While that scene is actually really hard to watch (think Billy Bob Thorton), and I wasn't particular for the movie in general, I did feel like that scene worked very well in giving insite into Halle Berry's character.

Another movie that really needed the scenes involved was Unfaithful. You really see the passion that Diane Lane has in her affair that is missing in her marriage. Another example would be 21 grams.

Movies where the scenes were just thrown in would be American Pie, Van Wilder, Euro Trip, Swordfish, etc. But don't get me wrong...I'M NOT COMPLAINING. The more female nudity I see...the happier I am.

I disagree. that scene was the point in the series where it shows the war was winding down. the opening scene there are two troopers scrounging in a barn for eggs, one tries to get laid but she says no. German girl and an American soldier having sex. it was not pointless or gratuitous it did have value and followed the episode. It showed that there was a collective sigh of relief by Easy company from all the crap they have been through. it showed them finally able to let their guard down.

Seriously, it like damaged the whole movie 🙁

Am I wrong to think that movie is about story? And not about sex? I mean sex that work with the story, that is fine. But the lame one that just throw it in just... waste time.

If I want to see sex, I'll switch to the playboy channel. Or rent those porno movies. There lots of sex scene and everything you'll ever want.

I see more and more shows base somewhat on mostly sex. Like The Mountain and The OC. They are very hot chicks, but when it's too much it kinda become porno.

What about the kids that watch them? Is it just me or does these new shows say "sex" is fun so lets all get f8ck. Kinda like smoking. It's fun, just do it and don't worry about the cancer thing.
