<< Lots of jealousy here. LOL!
Berkeley has more Nobel Prize winners than most countries. They just won another one last year. Berkeley is an awesome place to study. Wish I had the brains to go there!

Uh how do you mix jealousy with the stupidity shown by this school?
Are you saying what these kids did was ok? LOL >>
When you say "kids" do you realize that you're referring to adults who are definitely older than 18 and probably 21 or 22? While it was definitely unprofessional and improper of the instructor who held the "orgy" it doesn't sound like anyone was coerced. They were consenting adults. They probably should have had more sense than to do what they did. So maybe they're stupid, but not necessarily the school.
As for it being "OK" that depends on who is projecting their morality on to the situation--you obviously don't think it's OK.
Quite frankly, if students want to have an extracurricular orgy or take a field trip to a gay strip club, as long as students who object and don't wish to participate aren't penalized for it, I don't much care either way.
Further, you beat on the school, but it clearly states that the classes are developed and funded by students under loose faculty supervision. Aside from the fact they get credits for this, it's hardly different from a registered club. The advisor tripped up pretty hard, but you can't blame Berkeley as a school, this time.
Hell.....at least they actually try to be on the "cutting edge" when it comes to education instead of lazily employing a bunch of fat tenured professors who don't care if the students learn anything as long as they don't have to be bothered. The de-cal program obviously needs a little bit of revision, but conceptually, it's better than a lot of the crap other schools offer.
Berkeley's done some harebrained things, but there are other schools, swinging conservatively and liberally that have all done some stupid things. Fault them for those, but I don't think this event should reflect on Berkeley as a school.
