I have just sold my PS2 and my Nintendo DS. And now have £200 to burn, as recently my pc has been getting more and more unstable I decided to make it even better.

I built my pc from scratch with a very low budget and over time have been adding to it. Attached you will find a everest and a dxdiag report of my pc.

I obviously need to make my CPU better as it is still down at 1.2GHZ.

Please advise what I should buy and where I should get it from.
Thanks,

You sold your DS? I refuse to help! :(

:p Just kidding, good to see money referred to in £s here for once.

However, your budget really is quite low. To do anything worthwhile to your PC you need a complete overahaul; Sempron, DDR, AGP are all old-hat now and any one upgrade would be a bit of a stop-gap measure. If you can scrape up any more cash to spend on this you'd really notice a difference. (Another £12 and you can have an Athlon X2 3800+)

Socket AM2 motherboard (DDR2 and PCI-E) http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/ProductInfo.asp?WebProductID=518624
1GB DDR2-667 http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/ProductInfo.asp?WebProductID=232553
Athlon 64 3200+ http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/ProductInfo.asp?WebProductID=401096
GeForce 7600GS http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/ProductInfo.asp?WebProductID=462641

Including VAT and delivery from scan, that's £197.61.

The best part about this build is that it's a whole lot more open for future upgrades; when you get the cash you can add an X2 dual-core CPU, a better graphics card, more DDR2 memory and SATA drives.

Ill see if I can stretch to the Athlon X2 3800+, and obviously also I can sell old parts of the machine on ebay to raise up case to "re upgrade" if you get what I mean.
I sold my ds as all my colleagues/mates broke theirs and thus I has no one to play with :(

Edit: Oh and thanks for you help btw :)

Well to make it an Athlon X2 3800+ you only need to raise £12 so don't scavenge from the old PC too hard, you still need the PSU and drives!

instead of the 7600gs, get a 7600gt, they arent much more, but the difference is big
