Severe injury; can't talk, can't write, can't type?

Honestly, cannot imagine anything more frustrating than not having a way to communicate with family and friends after a severe/paralyzing trauma. There are so many instances where you could (temporarily) be unable to speak or write.

I saw this in .. err.. I don't remember the name of it offhand. Its the CMP generic programming magazine about six months ago. Just saw something now that reminded me of it so I thought I would share.

(I am in no way related to this or anything)

This is truly amazing stuff. You've got your pick .. if you have /any/ mobility /anywhere/ you can use this to "type." If you can just move your arm an inch, or bend your ankle, its enough to rig up a joystick, a laptop, and Dasher.

(It uses a mouse by default; you should really download it and check it out if you haven't seen it before. This is astounding software.)

Not as devastating as being deaf, IMHO. Music is my life.

Speaking from a hearing-impaired point of view, being blind would suck a lot worse. Not that being hearing-impaired is a picnic either... 🙁

No, I really mean it when I say that music is my life. I'm not sure what I could do if I couldn't hear music, I'd probably have to rig up huge subs and lay my head on the boxes so I could feel the vibrations.

But seeing things isn't important to you?

Seeing is very important to me, but if I was blind I would just have to change how I lived, if I was deaf, oh man... there would almost be no point. I really don't intend on loosing either btw 😉
