Hi
It is some time from my previous thread. Thankfully things are working much better at the moment.
I am using Win XP SP2 Pro, CAT 6.12 Beta, Page file as 1MB Initial and 2048MB Maximum. I have 4 partitions on a single HDD and both my gaming and XP partition have this page file.
My image tearing is so damn sever that my games seem either choppy, or stutter just because of image tearing, it is a rare form of image tearing which is very difficult to tell quickly that it is image tearing.
FEAR
High FPS but image tearing makes the game feel choppy. Used Triple Buffering + Vsync, decreased the FPS in intensive areas and during fights to below 60 and in those areas it doesn't remain too good, however performance is overall much smoother with Tripple Buffering + Vsync, however with Triple Buffering the occasional jerks/stutters increase.
Most Wanted
I no longer seem to have that constant stuttering. However the image tearing seems to be visible in the form of the trees going past jerkily and lagging especially while turning. The game seems to be particularly bad while making turns. V Sync + Tripple buffering makes a huge hit on FPS but the lagging and jerkiness seems to go to a significant extent, however the car becomes very tight to drive so it is not comfortable play.
UT 2004
V Sync adds to smoothness but decreases FPS sometimes to below 60. Tripple Buffering adds a slight lag to it. Without V Sync the game is ok, but no where close to that smoothness plus there is image tearing on close noticing.
Battlefield 2
Huge image tearing making the game extremely choppy and unplayable. V Sync is absolutely necessary, however it increases occasional stutters especially while turning.
I don;t get good FPS with BF2, which seems odd to me.
BF 2142
There is image tearing which takes away the smoothness of the game.

I use V Sync from within the game or from CCC, I use tripple buffering from DirectX Tweaker or something I think, with count at 2.
Could you tell my the possible causes for image tearing and how to correct it?
