SevenForums.com is absolutely ridiculous. I am spreading the word, I do not recommend people join seven forums the moderators deleted my thread for stupid reason. I really thought I was helping by telling people about useful program tweaking.com windows repair program. Some bs rule that you can't promote whatever. I'm not promoting anything I'm not getting paid I'm just recommending people a program that helped me and then I tried posting thread again and the mods gave me a warning of ban. I did not give a crap I was so ticked off I posted nasty vulgar stuff to say the least. The moderators are unbelievable now I'm almost afraid to help people on forums now. I thought it was a great thing to do but really it was not

Stay here, or on Reddit's various tech support subreddits. I avoid a lot of other tech forums because of the weird culture. I'm even down to lurk mode on Hardforum these days. It's a pity, because probably literally half of what I know about computers comes from reading posts, posting questions, and replying to questions on tech forums (the other half being googling, haha). When I started, I posted a lot of dumb questions that were really difficult for me at the time & I like posting replies now because I appreciated it I was helped, but like you said, the culture on certain forums is not as accommodating as in days past. My only advice is pick your battles. AT lives on because most of us don't want to deal with a lot of the BS that goes on on other forums.
