Hi Guys,

I am a novice for setting up a WebServer at home. I have a Linux Server/Window 2000 Server with ISDN connection. I want to setup my own webpages and able to access by the world from my server. What should I do ? I have signed up a my own URL.

1) Do I need to get a static IP address from my local ISP ?
2) Do I need to inform them for this setup ?

Please guide me, Thank You !

regards,
Larva

DynDNS will allow you to run a server off a static IP, and it's a free service.

It would probably be best not to - depending on your rate plan they may frown on it.

Check out this site for more good info on setting up your own webserver.
