Does anyone have any idea how I can setup remote desktop to talk to two computers over the internet and beable to type in the domain name without having to register for a static ip. Basically what I want to do is beable to have the updated external ip from one location in the other remote desktop console automatically. If there is any way I can clear this up more please ask questions and I will get back to you very soon. Thank you in advance for any help.

The issue should be divided into two.

1. How to keep a track of your External IP while you are not at the location?

May be this can Help: How can I connect to my Home Computer/Network/Server through thr Internet?

2. How to use and configure Remote Desktop: Microsoft - Remote Desktop in Windows XP.

Link to: Set Up Remote Desktop Web Connection with Windows XP.

Link to: How to use remote Desktop Access in Windows XP.

If you can not make it work or would like a less complicated solution: Ultr@VNC - Installation, and Settings

That's excellent advice and there is something in there that helped, the ezlan domain name service is what we need but we want something more reliable even if it's a commercial service that we have to pay for. Got anything like that.

I'm not sure exactly what you're looking for, but you might want to hop over to http://www.no-ip.com/

I'm really not sure if this will fit your needs. I use it to obtain the IP of a server to UltraVNC into. Dynamic IP through SBC and it sometimes changes within minutes.
