Name says it all. Can it be done? I'm trying to get out of purchasing a VPS solution. When I’m in coffee shops and when I’m browsing at *cough* work. If I can go thru a proxy that I create (I could just remote in to my home pc from work but where’s the fun in that ) on my web server. I have a dedicated IP.

I use an SSH tunnel as a SOCKS proxy for browsing off of a public wifi.

So I'm assuming you are routing traffic through your home network? or am I getting it wrong?

Depends where I am, I can use my home network or my VPS if I need a bit more bandwidth. All you need is a box with Internet access and an ssh server installed.

I also use a SOCKS through SSH from my linode/home. Works like a champ and very minimal config.
