Settlers 7 announced

I saw this a few days ago and haven't noticed it being posted here so here it is:

I've been seeing more people on here mention the Settlers series than I thought were interested in it, so here's the heads up.

There's also some info on Gamespot and a few other gaming sites.

Yeah, Ubi tends to worry me these days too.

From the video this looks like it may support LAN play or have some aspect of MMO play.

The sequels after Settlers 4 didn't captivate me the way 3 and 4 did.

I'll still always consider a Settlers game though. Probably after I play Settlers 2 (as I mentioned in another thread).

I really liked Settlers 4.

I tried to play it after installed my latest Video Card and I get a black box that won't go away beside the menu after I open something (building).

Apparently nVidia nuked something in their Drivers for the newer cards (8xxx and newer) that causes this 🙁
ATI/AMD cards all work fine though, but that doesn't help me out . . . .

On occasion I still play the original Settlers on my Amiga, with 2 mice and my girlfriend. And it's _still_ awesome.

I didn't even know they did the Settlers on the Amiga - I haven't set up my Amiga in years . . .

I first played the Settlers I when it was called Serf City.

Settlers 1 was on the Amiga. Had it on my A500 🙂 Anyway, the last Settlers I enjoyed was the second part... And apparently there's a remake of it too!

I really liked 6, Rise of an Empire. Went to play 5, Heritage of Kings and hated it. If 7 will be more like 6, then I'll buy it.

I keep trying to get into 6.. I play for an hour.. then quit from boredom

Heritage of Kings is 5 bucks at Gogamer and Rise of an Empire is 10 bucks. Might be worth picking up.

Edit - Meh, with Patch 1.7, why not?
