the shading is all wrong tho..

the spoiler shading is going towards the front of the car.. indicating sun in back (supported by the sun reflection in the side view mirror)
while the tailpipe shading seems to indicate sun in front...

unless i'm missing something.

😕

Who would do that to a Vette? Seriously, if I ever pulled up next to that car at a stoplight, that guy would be hearing a couple of questions about why he desecrated a classic car.

It is fake, look at the reflection in the paint. It depicts a desert scene while the picture is being taken from just outside of a building.

Real. The car looks like ass too. If i ever saw something like that i'd rip off all of the shiny crap and leave a note saying that i fixed the guys car.

You just may be right. But upon closer inspection that also could be the road and a car that you are seeing the reflection of. Nevermind, i zoomed in a lot and i think i see something that looks like a cactus near the rear of the car. LOL

Well, i mean in real life, of course. 🙂

That;s a chop. A good one, but he missed the shadows. Look at the shadow under the wing. It is showing the sun to be to the right of the car. Then look at the shadow cast by the car itself. it looks to show the sun as being directly overhead.

Why would anyone spend the time it would take to create a fake picture of a Corvette? All those accessories are available for a Corvette, I've seen worse at cruises and car shows on the Woodward strip in Detroit. I'm telling you, I've seen Corvettes with white wall tires, the ones commonly seen on a 1960's and 1970's model Cadillac driving around the ghetto. With spinner wheel locks and a custom vinyl or leather top no less!

That may be from a custom paint job, probably in candy. Candies don't show up well in photographs and it makes the color look non-uniform. The shadows are all consistent, including the glare from the driver's side mirror. The sun is almost directly overhead, slightly right of and behind the car. The shadow of the spoiler is consistent with the shadow of the car itself on the pavement, which is consistent with the shadow of the pickup in front of it.

Its just another ghetto-mobile, I've seen as bad or worse many times. People start on an accessory kick and don't know when to stop. I'm surprised the tires don't portrude beyond the fenders by 10 inches.

I'm gonna say thats real. Iono wtf you people are talking about. In my opinion, the shadows match up, you're just seeing what you wanna see. How do you know the picture is taken right outside of the building? It might be a small desert town, where they're at the edge of town and there is just desert and then suddenly a building.

Where do you see the damn cactus?

I'm not sure if it's a cactus or not. Bear in mind, my eyes are very very poor. It may just be a shadow but it sure as hell looks like a cactus to me. =\

there's shadow of 3 that you can see

the mirrof of the car is hiding the shadows

you guys know that he is taking that picture out of his car right? (assuming it's real)

All of the ground effects, spoilers, chrome trim, molding, and Chevy emblems are commonly available from JC Whitney! If you've ever looked through a JC Whitney Catalog, you'd know this photo is not a fake. They sell all this stuff in there...and then some. They wouldn't make this stuff if nobody was buying it.

All of these components can be found in the online catalog of www.c5-corvette.com, including the nifty chrome trim around the tail-lights, side reflectors, and roll-pan.

As ridiculous as it looks, that in and of itself isn't cause to suspect the photo is faked. I don't know where people are getting that, unless they just don't leave their house much. I see ridiculous looking cars like this daily.

There used to be a metallic green 240SX around here that looked funky like that Corvette. And, yes, it had the little rims that stuck 50% outisde the fenders :|

What is the American equvalent of rice?? Someone else here has a early/mid 90s Ford Escort GT with exhaust pipes under each door like it's friggin' Cobra 427 or something...I desperately need a "profiling name" for that kind of domestic disaster :Q

well... i say it's fake. reason being... the wheels r not rotating. i assume the vette is not parked, being it's like not even close to the durb. it's prolly not at a light becuz there does not appear to be a car ahead of it, plus no brake lights. but then again... it could be just crawling along slow enough that the camera froze the wheels. anyway... put me down for fake.

I think you have enough votes by now to settle the argument... So who won?😀

btw I voted Yes(thank god).

If you look at the shadow of the car and the tailpipes the sun seems to be sorta low in the sky, and to the rear right. If this is so, then why aren't those telephone poles making any shadow?

Also as someone mentioned before, why aren't the wheels moving if they are in a 45 mph zone with traffic that isn't very heavy?

I'd guess the car is real, but pasted into that pic or something.
