I got my new machine put together with the A7V133 rev1.05 and a tbird CPU that shows
T7-1200 (266mHz) on the packaging. I'm not sure how to figure the BIOS settings that I see
discussed quite a lot in this forum.
What does "unlocking the cpu" mean? Is this necessary only for overclocking?
Current settings (jumperless):
Operating Frequency Setting = standard
Cpu Clock Multiplier = 9X
Cpu Frequency = 100 mHz
I would rather be conservative instead of overclocking so the machine is stable, runs cool, etc. It seems like numerous permutations of the multiplier and freq can come out to 1200mHz. Is there a simple method for deciding on the numbers to use?
I already changed the DRAM frequency to 133 to match the installed sticks (2 @ 256MB)
and it seems OK with that.
