setting up serv u ftp server

I have opened up port 21 on my linksys router. I assumed that I had sit the ftp server up correctly, but I keep getting an error 530 stating anonymous logins not allowed. Does anyone know gow I can fix this problem. I am using windows 2000 professional and server.
 
make people have a password and login. when me and my Bro were runnin Serv-U thats teh only way we could get arround that.

O and also for some reason we could only connect with Cute-FTP or FTP Voyager.

dont really know why that was but it worked when we did that
