Setting up Network Problem, Help!!

I have been been trying to connect up a laptop to my NT Server but It won't work. I assigned an IP, because it isn't self assigning, I Made sure the network card worked, I set up the acess to user level access and typed in the name of the server.
The only potential problem I can see is that the link light on the adapter that comes from the PCMCIA card keeps flashing, which seems to me that this would mean that the link between the laptop and the server is "Flashing".

Any Help is appreciated.

If the light is flashing I would suggest first check your cables... maybe switch in another cable to see if that works...
