blemoine, which services are you in the market for..I can do a wide variety of things

i am not in the market for anything but i was wondering how much you would charge to do the job for dalearyous. the whole point is that even though Microsoft has the most confusing and costly Licensing they usually have the lowest TCO because you don't have to hire someone to maintain your server.

uh wow i started a war here. first off i hope i didn't mislead pak9rabid into thinking i was going to pay him for the job...the whole point is that its summer and i don't have classes and that i would do it myself and figure it out myself. the experience and knowledge would come in handy some day im sure. what i thought pak9rabid was referring to is that if im stumbling along and come to a brick wall that google/forums cannot answer i could contact him for help...right?

it seems i dug up a fanboy war, kinda like which is better xbox, ps2, or gamecube. wasn't my intention. everyone makes valid points. i will still prolly end up doing it in linux just because its completely foreign to me and i would like to learn it. i already have server2003 software so if get an extra couple hundred dollars ill buy another tower and do it with windows too i dunno we'll see. but people have posted a lot of useful links that i will surely come back and look at.
