I can get GRUB to load, and that's about it.

My experience with Linux (installing it anyways) is ZERO. I don't even know what the hell GRUB is.

I want to get Damn Small Linux or Flonix on it, but I can't download Flonix from ANYWHERE and DSL doesn't give me any good advice.

GRUB is a boot loader used at startup to load a specific OS (in the case of a system that has multiple OS'es on it ).

I've used DSL but only off a boot CD....it seems like there was an option to install it to a USB drive from within DSL.
