Setting up Linux box as a "Hardware Modem"

I've been planning to set up an older computer of mine as a gateway to the internet. I only have regular modem service, and one phone line. The other day, I ran across the following article here and it told how to set up everything for it. However, I'd like to be able to have one click access on my Windows boxes to connect and disconnect the modem. Anyone have any ideas about this?

Try this, I use it for my cable modem but It can be used for phone modems also. It is supposed to dial up when one system goes for access. I have not tried the modem part of it yet but is a really nice router.
