Setting up IRC fserve behind a Netgear RT314

What kind of port forwarding and filters do I need to implement? I've been working on this for a couple days, but to no avail. I've got polaris script running and advertising just fine. When IRC users type my trigger, they attempt to connect but always time out. I'm assuming that my RT314 is blocking the incoming packets. How can I set this up?

i used a router before and i had no problems with irc, but thats just me. does this happen when you're connected directly?

I use a software router but from all the hardware router related posts I've seen, getting IRC DCC SEND to work has been the most common and DCC SEND is an essential part of fserve. I way is to setup your computer in the DMZ but some users run in to problems with that (rare) and it isn't recommended since it exposes your computer. Dunno what else to tell you besides that.

I think you need to setup port forwarding to forward the desired port to your computer.

I have the same hardware. There are a couple of ways to enable port forwarding...A word of caution though - Any attacks coming on that port will be to your computer after that...

If you are on the latest bin for RT314, then you should be able to do that under Web interface under Advanced settings-->Ports

If not use telnet to connect to the box, and go to SUA server setup (option 15). You should be able to set up port forwarding after that.

Obviosly, for this to work you will have to know the port you want to forward.
