Hi all. I am having some trouble setting up a FTP account. I have someone doing my hosting. I would like to be able to type "ftp.mydomain.com" in a browser and download files i have uploaded from anywhere. When I type that it goes to a folder that contains mail and pub folders. I have gone through my whole web directory and cant find those folders anywhere. I have tried uploading files to pub_ftp but i cant seem to acces them except for logging on with a FTP program as anonymous. any help would be appreciated.

Thanks that worked. But is there anyway so that someone doesn't have to type a username/password? I use WS_FTP for managing it, but i would like for someone else to be able to access files i choose with just their browser.

I'm not sure how your hosting provider has set up your account, but usually there is a public folder that is accessible over the web (it may even be the root folder). For administering the site, you will use FTP. For browsing the files on the web, you'll likely browse to http://www.mydomain.com

"Allow anonymous access to ftp://ftp.yourdomain.com - This allows to view, download, and delete files from your public_ftp folder."

This is what the CPanel User Guide says. I have done that and it works except it doesnt go to the public_ftp folder. It goes to some other one that I cant even seem to find on the server.

What are you trying to accomplish exactly? Do you want people to anonymously FTP into your FTP server? What behavior are you seeing?
