Im setting up a ext SCSI tape drive, it told me to leave it set at ID3 as default, so I did and let it boot, well, it boots and then starts beeping with the light on drive 3 blinking orange (failure), then I realize that this drive is ID3, so I change the tape drive to 6, but the dang thing is still beeping, and its not quiet either and I have no clue how to reset it. I went into the SCSI manager and it said that the drive is failing, but all I can do is Rebuild, Format, etc. and Im not sure what rebuild is.
What happens if I "rebuild". Does it format the hard drive or just reset the array?
Any help!
BTW, there is no way to disable the (@#* speaker that I know of. I have even unplugged one, but I guess it is an oboard speaker but I cant find a jumper to disable it.!
Intel G7ESZ motherboard
Adaptec SCSI card
4 SCSI hard drives!
2 tape drives
