I have a AMD X2 3800+. Very nice dual core. I also have 2mb ram and a ATI x1900xtx 512mb video card.

I have no problems playing Counter-Strike and get very very good FPS.

The reason I'm posting is because I cannot get BF2 to play correctly. It kicks me out alot. A friend told me to come here and post. He said something about having one of the cores set-up for gaming etc.

How do I go about doing that? Can someone give me a step by step instruction please.

Thanks,

I haven't had any issues myself with dual core and BF2, but if you fire up BF2, then alt tab out of it and load up the task manager you should be able to set the game to run on one core alone. You do this by setting the program's affinity to either core 0 or core 1. That may help your CTD issues. I do not have the X2 drivers installed (it's on a SP1 machine, it's a bit complicated though ;)
