I have one HD, a cd rom, and a cd-rw. How should I set up these devices? What I was thinking was leaving only the hd on the first cable (IDE 1) in case I ever wanted to install a second hd and then put the cd rom and cd rw on IDE 3 & 4 (setting the cd rw as master since I will use that more often). Thanks for any suggestions.

I always thought that it was good to have a cdrw on a seperate cable from the cd-rom. But I'm not sure.

that's ideal if you want to do cd>cd copying.
if you make an image to hdd before burning then having the cd & cdrw on the same ide channel should be fine!

So maybe put on IDE 1 & 2 : hard drive (master), cd rom (sl) and then on IDE 3 & 4 possible second hd (would be master if added), cdrw(as slave if 2nd hd added, otherwise set as master). Does this sound like a good setup?
