Does anyone know how to set the correct memory timing on a ASUS Striker Ex MoBo?

I have tried to learn O/C-ing and so far have failed at all attempts to O/C my system and would now be happy to just start with getting my memory to run at the rated speed. I ran mem-test and the memory shows no errors; cpu-z shows my C4 memory running @ 5-5-5-15. It is rated at 4-4-4-12. I have a lot more homework to do before attempting any more OCs as all my attempts crashed and I am lost as to why. I would really appreciate help with just getting the memory to run correctly. I would need detailed instructions as I am new to this. My build and system info is:

ASUS Striker Extreme
E6600
Corsair C4 @ Gig Kit
eVGA 8800 GTX
SliverStone PSU 750F

MoBo Temos 34 Degrees C
CPU 29 Degrees C

SLI Disabled
Link Boost Disabled
GPUex Disabled
Memory Linked

As an observation before I disabled LinkBoost my 1.2v HT Voltage was 1.5v; upon disabling it my 1.2 HT Voltage normalized at 1.2.

Thanks. JV

Trashman, Sorry for the delayed response; I am in the middle of painting the Dining Room for the Lady of the House and prepare for my work on the new build tommorrow. Yes, I have tried to do a manual change in the BIOS but only in conjunction with the overclocking attempts. I have never tried to reset the timings in and by themselves and want to make sure when I do that I don't make whatever errors I made when attempting to overclock. I will outline below my overclock settings (they failed) that included the memory timings and maybe you could help me from there. I would sincerely appreciate your help with this.

My last Failed BIOS Settings:

Bios: 1004
AI Tuning Manual
GPU Ex Disabled
Linkboost Disabled
SLI Expert
FSB- Memory Clock Mode Unlinked NOTE: The memory was a little more than 800 unlinked and about 1100 linked so I chose unlinked.
FSB 1467
DDR 800
tCL 4
tRCD 4
tRAS 4
tRP 12
CMD 2T
tRRD Auto (A)
tRC A
tWR A
tWTR A
tREF A
Async A
No Voltage Changes: NOTE: the system sets the memory voltage at 1.9v as it sits now but I never put in the 2.1V Corsair memory specifications; I don't know what the system would have set the volts at in auto with these OC inputs as the system never booted
PCI Spread Spectrum Disabled
MCP PCIE Spread Spectrum Disabled
Sata Spread Spectrum Disabled
LDT Spread Spectrum Disabled
CPU Internal Thermal Control Disabled
Limit CPUID MaxVAl Disabled
Enhanced C1 (C1E) Disabled
Execute Disable Bit Disabled
Visualization Technology Disabled
Enhanced Intel Speedstep Disabled
LDT Frequency 5X

PCI-E 1 Frequency Mhz 100
PCI-E 2 Frequency Mhz 100
PCI-E 3 Frequency Mhz 100
SPP MCP Ref Clock Mhz 200

Sorry for the long post but that was all I changed. The machine didn't boot but upon reset it went into CPR and I reset all defaults and againg set up my raid and other values mentioned in my first post. The machine rebooted and winows went to a blue screen about corrupt files etc. I again rebooted and it went fine. That was my third attempt to OC so I gave up and checked the memory. The memory checked fine. I figured I need to do more reading to better understand what I am doing with the overclocking but would like to set my RAM right for the time being and run a system check before my t 30 days are up on the return policy. I appreciate your response and please let me know if you can help. Thanks, JV

Here's a couple of links to check out from users of that board, not at all familiar with it.
Both links are from same OP that has problem oc'ng his setup, looks pretty similar to yours.

you don't mention using aftermarket cpu cooler, if your using stock cooler, you might want to invest in one.

Thanks again Trashman; I visited that site; those guys seem really knowledgeable about this rig so I will stay with that forum and seen if I can get help long the way. This OC thing is interesting and appears to be very involved; I enjoy the technical aspect. Thanks for taking the time to point me in the right direction; I'll pass it on. JV

I don't have a striker, but there will be an option to manually set memory timings (versus defaults set by SPD) in your BIOS somewhere. There is Windows software that can do it as well but I prefer using the BIOS. It will be obvious which ones are 5-5-5-15 and just change those to 4-4-4-12. I'd also up your memory voltage to 2.1 or 2.2, whatever Corsair warranties as the maximum, to increase memory stability at lower timings.
