SetiQ Question

Jay - that means that when Setiqueue sees a VLAR WU (very low angle range WU), it will try to redirect it to an OS (clients/queues are identified by OS) that will run it the fastest. It is known that there is a bug in the 3.03 CLI that makes running these very slow on windoze 9x/ME. Thus if you are running SETI on linux, it'll direct the VLAR WUs to that machine. Similarly, Setiqueue can try to send these to windoze NT/2K/XP since those OSes run VLAR WUs a little better than 9x/ME (although still slower than *nix or MacOS, etc).

Most of my machines are XP or 2000, though I do have a few 98/ME machines. 🙁

EDIT BTW, thanks Poof. 😉

Sorry for the long convoluted message! 😛

Setiqueue will then try to send VLAR WUs to your 2K & XP machines, thus trying to avoid your 98s. 2K/XP will run them faster than 98. 🙂
