How to run SETI and Join TeAm AnandTech

Once you have your SetiDriver setup and working properly it is recommended that you use one of the TeAm's SetiQueues.
This will insure you have WUs to crunch when the Seti Server is down.
How To configure your SetiDriver to use a TeAm SetiQueue. 🙂

btw.. is it normal for a 1.2 ghz duron machine to take 60 hours to finish a WU?
on my second (old machine) its only at 50% of its WU .. 30 hours CPU Time so far on it...
its a 1.2 ghz duron, 512 MB 133mhz SDram, on a crappy FIC mobo heh

Now to your question.

No the times you are experiencing are not normal ... they are extremely abnormal. 🙁

You are probably running the GUI CLIENT, the one with the pretty graphics screen-saver?

The first thing you should do (after you have enjoyed the pretty graphics for a while) is to un-install the Seti GUI CLIENT. Then follow the instructions in the link in my "sig-line" that starts out, "Click this to learn .... . <--- Also a link. 😉

If you follow those instructions step-by-step I am sure you will get things working the way they should.

culver03, I built a system for my Mother with an FIC mobo and a Duron 750. Using the cli, as Smokeball suggested, my Mother's system does a WU in the 9 hour range. So, you should be much better than that!

What Smokeball said 😉 (though if you really can't bear to lose the graphics totally then you can set its 'screen saver settings' to 'blank screen' after 5mins or so or you can minimise the window if its set to 'always run'.This will 1/2 WU time but it still won't be as fast as the CLi.Inccidently v3.03 is faster than v3.08 at most WUs 😉.

Btw I don't know what chipset you have but my mothers PC has a 1.2GHz Duron too on an Asus A7V133(KT133a).
I have unlocked the CPU & set it to 9x133=1.2GHz (running the FSB/RAM at 133/133 is much quicker than 100/133) ,when she's not playing scrabble on it (you wouldn't believe how much cpu power that simple game sucks!:Q)it does WUs in just over 5hrs!🙂
