SETI times on OC'd P4 1.6a @ 2.4-2.5ghz?

As soon as my mobo comes and I get my new system up next week, I will tell you what the 1.8a does. I've got all the makings of a 2.6 GHz screamer....sure hope it clocks up there! My goal is sub 3 hour wu's. 🙂

keep us updated. 🙂

Um, disappointed? I don't get it. Sure the Intel 1.6a isn't available in a cheaper dualie format like the AMD but as far as $$$ per single CPU/MB combo the Intel does pretty well.

(yeah, I'm defending my new box) 😉

I guess he's dissapointed because of the high clock speed ,& WU times which arent any better than a lower clocked Athlon XP ,I can see his point ,dunno about the cost issue *shrug*

/me wonders if nforce is faster than kt266a at seti

why won't anand figure this stuff out for us?!?

there was one article i think he did that did bench seti.

i wonder if i can pump my fsb any further? i think so... but i don't want pci getting far out of spec. nforce keeps pci at 33 MHz regardless. wonder how much i could fleabay the kt266a and the turtle beach for?

And if you look at TuffGuy's times of 3:22 @ 1.47, just 6 minuites slower then a 2.4 P-4

Just some info in case anyone wants to know more about how the Northwoods do on the Seti benchmark..

MSI 645 Ultra motherboard(Sis645)
P4 Northwood 1.8a at 2.5g(139fsb)
1 256mb Crucial pc2100 ddr
memory settings, fsb:memory ratio set at 4:5 resulting in 346 memory bus,cas 2.5, normal timing setting in bios

result..3:10:06

Wish my memory was good enough to run cas2 and aggressive timing at 346 bus.
