I have a dual boot machine right now, running on an AthlonXP 1600+. The WinXP machine does a unit on average around 4:00 hrs. The Linux version does work on average around 4:30 hr. Both are running the CLI client, no graphical monitoring software running. Any clue why to the lag under Linux?

THanks

P.S. I'm running RH Linux 7.2, KDE desktop.

My Linux box runs much slower than my 98 box,

Note: My Linux is on a k6-II-350 and my 98 box is an XP1600+. :p

Jay - your 30 minutes slower figure is right on the money based on all the benching I've done over the years. It has to do with the Intel compiler producing a more efficient client than the g77 linux compiler. :(

There IS a new Intel compiler for *nix that came out recently, but no one has made a move to use it for the *nix clients... [why should I not be surprised.
