Let me just post a message by a Seti Cruncher by the name of motorboat on the Ars Forums some time back in late 2002.

AKA Bandai, teams treat me as a freaking God just cause I have so many WU's. I have put out 417518 in 19th place so far and I started the project later than most heavy crunchers. I can easily put out 7000 + WU's a day with no problems. Most top teams know me and would love to have me but I'm inactive now cause so many people are cheating and it's not worth my time set this up on so many pc's and have people like Kalidor, Ant, Jacor & Pigalak, om4ti, SMT and others start cheating and waste the efforts of honest people. Maybe I'll start again and maybe I won't but at least I did it without chaeating or did I so get over it.

Bit of irony there ... wouldn't you say.

Maybe I shouldn't have posted this for it only brings up old wounds but I'll only applaud the top crunchers AFTER the "final audit" ...

For the "true believers", the search goes on. For those with a more competitive disposition, let's continue to crunch for we have not yet crossed the finish line. 😉

Nothin wrong with your memory.
 
Remember this write up and the accompanying certificates are being done by the Planetary Society and not Berkeley. There is no way that TPS could determine who is and who is not a cheater they can only go by what is listed.

I still have faith that those who have cheated will get what is coming to them. I think Berkeley isn't doing anything right now because there really isn't a way for them to prevent a cheater from simply doing it again. Once phase I is over and they have made the transition to BOINC, they can make the deletion of cheaters permanent.
 
Well, congrats guys (no matter what you think of the article or whatever). TeAm Anandtech is definitely the best team out there. Period. The end. 🙂

Team founders were emailed by The Planetary Society on short notice, and how many either took the time to reply fast, or were even reachable determined who got quoted. I'm very pround to have been included in the press release, for myself, and for my team. 😎
