Wow, what a rousing welcome! Thanks. I built my new system largely from the advice of folks on this board, so why not give something back? Sides, I wanna find lil green people...thanks again. :)

Peace

Wow! Thanks for the welcome guys :) Especially, my mentor Crazee (Will) and the admin, Smokeball (Greg)! Actually, I downloaded SETI a few months back and was running it in GUI mode for a few days - I gave up when I didn't discover the aliens even after a whole week on it ;) Just kidding! But I don't remember what email id I'd signed up with and so I had to start from scratch! For now, I'd just like to know if increasing the SETI client priority will slow down my Win2k machine (it usually runs 24/7). I'm guessing the answer's probably in some FAQ around here, so I will be looking around too. Also, if I run multiple instances on different machines, I get the impression that I could use the same id for all those instances, is this correct? Finally, I'm upgrading to a dual processor soon and would love to find out how I can run two instances of the SETI client and assign one to each processor (I think I saw something related to that too in the Welcome package, need to check again!). Once again, thanks for the welcome :)

I leave the priority set to low
Yes you can run seti on as many machines as you want with the same id, just enter your email address the first time you run the program and download work units
Seti will assign one instance to each cpu for dual system set processes to 2.
happy crunching:)
