I remember a few years back when we transmitted a "beacon" like signal. The concentrated beam if you looked directly at it at the moment would've been brighter than the Sun.


 
Here's 1 snip that I found particularly interesting

SETI@home II should gather radio data at about 10 or 15 times the rate now being recorded at Arecibo, says Werthimer, because it will scan more of the sky at once with multiple signal feeds and will process wider bandwidths😎

That will put an end to the 'over crunching' of WUs🙂
