The winning streak continues. Ten straight days and counting with at least one race winner. That's an all time SRL record!
ShotgunSteve predicted he would crunch 2000 by his one year SETI anniversary and he hit the nail right on the head, landing one wu passed the finish line at 2001 exactly on the day he predicted. Picking up K-Key number two at the awards stand, SGSteve acknowledges the crowd at trackside as they give him a rousing ovation and continue to chant "S-G-Steve! S-G-Steve!" as he makes his way to the entrance to the 2K lounge, inserts the key, and twists the golden fob two turns to the left to open the door to SETI racer's heaven, a fridge full of beer, a hottub filled with luscious warm water, and a quantum computing lesson from our hottub babes. Congratulations on the milestone and happy anniversary, ShotgunSteve!
In what has been a thriller over the last several weeks, The Other Team AnandTech SETI 500 crowns its first winner in a while as JustStarting zooms across the finish line to hold off strong challenges from PhotoLenny and Fingers down the stretch. It is JustStarting's first appearance on the SRL tour circuit and he made quite an admirable showing, picking up a victory in his first race. Accelerating constantly over the passed several days, adding one, then two to his daily average, JustStarting extended his lead to 14 over his closest competitor at the wire, topping out at 503 as the checkered flag fell at the finish line. Now it's time to enjoy a relaxing stint in the hottub and a sip or 32 of victory brew. Congratulations, JustStarting!
No less than four new races make their debut this morning, with another one that will begin tomorrow morning. Today, three TA-Seti heavy hitters team up in a contest to 16000. Lane42, DroolMAN!, and Team Pazoo lock horns in what should be quite a battle. Lane and Pazoo are fresh out of the hottub after celebrating victories in other crunch fests while the human tsunami DroolMAN! is looking to capture another crown after an extended vacation from the awards stand. Right out of the gate, Droolie and Lane lay down the gauntlets, dumping 146 and 143 packets respectively to add to Team Pazoo's already substantial pre-race deficit. But race watchers who follow Team PZ on a regular basis know that their heroes are far from out of this one.
Also starting up today is a contest of crunching skill to see who can earn their 9th K-Key first. In this race, we welcome back some veterans who have taken extended vacations from the rigors of Seti racing and return refreshed to wreak havoc among their SETI bretheren. Karsten, Maku, and the Dominator see their first SRL action in many months as they team up with none other than the cane wielding red Rascal Rider riding Rowdy Ray and one of TA-Seti's most recent race winners LiveLongAndProsper to see who can earn that ninth K-Key first. Anytime the Rowdy One is involved in a race, there's bound to be excitement for the spectators and plenty of suprises for the participants. Good luck gentlemen!
As if participating in one milestone race isn't enough, LiveLongAndProsper decides that it might also be fun to race to his 8th K-Key on the road to number nine. Joining LL&P on the road to 8K is tuffguy, in his second SRL event, the Mucster who brings his sizable entourage along with him, and everyone's favorite aquatic white bird Swanny. LL&P begins the race with a sizable disadvantage, but tough challenges are what this Vulcan lives for.
Our last new race today is a contest of purging prowess to 6000 entitled Gimme that 6th K-Key! Race to 6000 featuring five grizzled racing veterans. Just in case the British Bulldog Tag Team Tandem fall out of the running in Another race to 6000, they've decided to match cracking wits with another group of crunchers vieing for the 6K mark. Joining the Britishers is the respected veteran JimMc, returning champion Clueless, TA-Seti's milestone stats master Mighty Micon, and the baddest dude in the SRL who has redefined the word "cool", Funky Town MoFunk. Keep your eyes on this one, folks!
