Yesterday two SRL participants locked up face time on the Wall of Fame. It seems like only a month ago that the Sinister Oscillator was a racing rookie, racing to one of the lower milestones around 3000. It was shortly after that that Evil joined a race to 10K with BigWoofer, planning on reaching the 10K mark sometime in November of this year. Well, yesterday EvilWobbles teetered across the Holy Grail of milestones, the five digit morph point at 10K, more than three months ahead of schedule. In an incredible display of assimilation technique and crunching fortitude, the Sinister Oscillator inked his place in the SRL racing history books with an awe inspiring run at the Holy Grail milestone. Welcome to the 10K club, Wobbles! Beer, babes, and the hottub await you in the 10K lounge along with a first class physics lesson on electron spin. Kudos and congrats!
Mighty Micron also earns a write-up in the SRL journals for his victory dash yesterday in the 1500 WU Tally Tagger. Surging his fleet around the final turn, micron cruised down the home stretch to take the checkered flag (being waved by one of our lovely race babes) and win some butt time in the victory hottub. Crossing the line nearly 200 wu's ahead of his nearest competitor, Mighty Micron wowed the standing room only crowd with his perserverance and packet pounding prowess down the stretch. Now it's time for a little R and R in the lounge and a little learnin' and burnin' in the hottub. Since you're a bit young yet, the fridge is stocked with beer of the root variety and mucho cans of Mt. Dew (the official drink of the SRL... and here y'all thought it was beer!). Congratulations on the race win, micron!
Today, the huge raucus throng taking in the action at the storied racing oval where the Team AnandTech SETI 500 is being run (affectionately called the WU Yard) witnessed a stunning finish. With both TeAm Confused Ai3x and ledzepp98 running with the pedal to the metal, smoke and dust obscuring everyone's view, the actual winner had to be determined by the cameras positioned and 16 strategic spots around the finish line. Racing officials studied the photos for hours, not wanting to get such a critical decision incorrect and determined without a doubt that the British Bulldog Tag Team Tandem had indeed crossed the finish line ahead of a streaking Long Island Rocker by two tiny wu's. What an incredible finish to an incredible race, as the UK mates powered their way to the front of the pack entering the final turn and then held on for dear life down the home stretch, barely holding off the valiant charge of ledzepp98. Now it's time to par-tay and since there are no losers in the SRL, both fleet generals will partake of beer, babes, and brains in the victory lounge. Congratulations, Confused/Ai3x and ledzepp98!
The Dark Side is victorious in Turtle Wars: Episode II. The Tortoise Strikes Back at 15K as the dark turtle lord Darth Polo has cut down the Jedi knight in training, Dude OhioWalker with a flash of his light sabre, knocking Dude on his can. Finally gaining revenge for his defeat at 13K, the Sith Turtle adds insult to injury by stepping on Dude's favorite toy, his Han Solo action figure by Hasbro. Now that was low, Darth Polo! At any rate, Darth Polo earns a victory and a large glass of Tercanian Jiggle Juice as well as a dip in the crystal clear waters of the enchanted springs of Endor. In a rare display of benevolence, Zodder the Hut has also sent his prized Twi'lek, Oola to dance for you as you relax as long as you promise not to feed her to your Rancor. Congratulations, Darth Polo! (Be on your gaurd, Sith Turtle! You have not heard the last from the Dude!)
