Taking the challenge from the Big Dawg very seriously is IJump who's big time 174 nearly puts a century spot between him and the Dawg's production overnight. With the frenetic fondling of Berkeley workunits at such a raucus rate in The Very Very Loooonnnnggg Race to 10,000, these two crazed crunching cannibals may just beat our other racers to that mark. Way back at the inception of this contest, long, long, long before IJump's massive fleet was even a flickering glimmer in his eye, the Big Dawg and the Evil Oscillator decided to match prowess in a race that they both guessed would last a year at least. At it's current frantic frenzied pace, this contest of assimilating acumen will not last another 45 days!
The defster dumps a bottle of NO2 directly into the El Camino's dual Holley 850 cfm carbs and the old big block responds with a mighty roar and lunges forth 96 workunits, causing the Sheriff to sit bolt upright in the saddle and look frantically towards the rear. Yep, that rogue racer was trying the old "dupe 'n dump" maneuver again, assuring Zappin' Zod only days ago that the tricks would remain up his sleeve until the stretch run, hoping that a false sense of security would lull the Sheriff into a little packet nap. The serendipitous surge from the defster actually brings the Sheriff's horse's hindquarters within view at a distance of 113 workunits. There's never a dull moment when the Rogue's racing, especially when the race is between two arch-rivals such as these.
Something has definitely gotten into SoulAssassin. His last several days have been highly impressive, the last two earning him shockie awards. The racing world wonders if this is the new SoulAssassin? Is this a permanent upgrade to an already impressive rack of cracking rigs? Yesterday's 79, on the heels of an 80 the day prior, establish the Assassin as the strong favorite in the The Great 10K CountDown and also make him one the big movers in The Mid-Major Crunch to 2500 with a Handicapped NWM. Speaking of the mid-major crunch, soni, one of our SRL Great Danes and lovable stats-master, smashes 74 workunits to cause many in the crowd to begin to whisper a chant that hasn't been heard for quite some in regards to soni's production. Almost impreceptible at first, soni's fans begin to form the rhytmic words and more and more join as realization spreads of their hero's resurgence... "Ti-tan, Ti-tan, Ti-tan". Is Titan soni back?
The M & M Boys & Some Others Race to Crunch 1000 sees Innuendo Minendo put a temporary kabash on the recent run by Freewolf to recapture the lead position. The suprising 52 earns the Indiana resident his first shockie award and extends his lead to a more comfortable 42 as the lead racers approach the half way point. An excellent battle is being waged for the number three spot between Crabby and the Migrooster with only nine wu's separating the two. Mighty micron can hear the footsteps from behind in the Race to Crunch 1000 with a Crazee Twist. Those footsteps belong to the Evaderman whose recent fleet improvements have kept him right around a 20 wu per day pace. A 19 yesterday allows Evadman to bring all guns to bear on micron's aft shielding as the pair battle it out only nine wu's apart. At the top of the bracket, our other Great Danes, Team Tofters and Volders, toss a few spent wu cartridges in front of Fardy's tires, causing him to swerve off the road long enough for them to surge back into second by a five spot, leaving the Ute shaking his fist defiently in their direction, now from the third position. Lots of excitement in this crunch-fest!
