Introducing a new race today and a slight Stats-O-Matic modification that allows better tracking of handicapped races and puts the SOM up to version #1.3. 😎
Our new race today is entitled The Mid-Major Crunch to 2500 with a Handicapped NWM and no that doesn't mean that networkman is racing in a wheelchair. This race is for the medium to medium-rare crunchers, those who produce in the 30 to 50 wu per day range. And we've chosen a fine sampling from that esteemed group of purgement procurers, lead by conjur whose idea it was to assemble this mid-major conference of crunchers for our viewing pleasure. Joining the conference administrator in this one-of-a-kind tournament is a host of well-known racers who have graced the SRL pages in the past and one brand spanking new rookie named SoulAssassin who hopes to practice his sniper techniques on a very large number of workunits during the course of the tourney.
Continuing our rundown of the new players, welcome none other than the defster, that enigmatic rogue racer currently racing to the 10,000 wu Holy Grail. Popping up from the Lonely Racer's bracket to join in on the frenetic fun of the mid-major mash is Yield, TA-Seti's latest edition to the esteemed 10K Klub and there he is joined by Captain Skoopa of the USS Poop. Poopsie has decided to try his hand at double-dipping, as he is actively participating in a traditional race with Captain Scott, able commander of the USS Guid, on their way to the abandoned Farpoint Outpost at sector 16,000. Also doubling his pleasure and doubling his fun in this free-for-all is Crazee, who is participating in this crunch-fest without the twist. And I am honored to welcome back to active racing one of TA-Seti's Great Danes, the MTR Stats Master himself and one-time Seti Titan, soni.
And last but not least, the racer receiving some of the top billing in the race title is networkman who has been penalized 500 wu's at the start of the race for lude behavior during the opening ceremonies. :Q Just kidding... 😉 That's the NWM Handicap, he must crunch 3000 wu's in the same amount of time that the remaining racers battle to pound out 2500 so he begins the race to the tune of a 500 wu deficit. As the bell sounds, it seems as though def may have been carrying a few bags of sand in the trunk of the El Camino, as the rogue racer lives up to his renegade reputation by nearly doubling the mid-major production average and his closest competitor on the first day of racing. This one looks to be a race filled with intrigue and suspense, and maybe more than a little trash talk, so sit back and enjoy the brawling and bawling that is sure to emanate from this raucus racing venue.
