After a false start yesterday, the M & M Boys Race to Crunch 1000 restarts this morning with a few additional racers added in. What began as a calm little two-man race between Minendo and that three-timing migrooster, has turned into a full-blown block party overnight with the addition of Freewolf, neovan, and everybody's favorite Alaskan King Crab with the huge scary foreclaws, ElFenix, who's doing a little double-dipping of his own. The new start sees the newcomer Freewolf dump 36 wu's, 20 more than his closest competitor, to take an early lead. Elfenix and neovan purge 15 and 16 respectively to anchor the middle of the pack while our two original racers bring up the rear, with poor Migroo stalled out on the starting line. Good luck, gentlemen, and welcome to the SRL, Freewolf!
For the first time in the history of the Seti Racing League, a quintuple shockie has been awarded. This high honor goes to Cygor & Cobra as they dump an astounding 1,583 workunits in their personal challenge to crunch 50,000 by April 31st. Having sat at zero for a number of days, actually since the inception of their race with time, it was common knowledge that a potent purge was on the way, but the sheer dimensions of their voluminous dump is nothing short of awe-inspiring. In one fell swoop, the powerful pair from Loppersum have clogged the Berkeley wu chute with far more wu's than I can produce in two months with my fleet. That is one impressive purgement, Cygor & Cobra!
Over the last day or two Networkman has fallen below his required average of 69 wu's per day to reach his lofty goal of 22,000 by June 1st. A few of his numerous fans are beginning to squirm in their seats, a look of concern etched on their faces. Hopefully this is only a temporary setback and NWM will be back on track to meet his personal goal in a short while. After recently falling below the century mark, IJump is now back on the other side of 100, making his racing partners in The Very Very Loooonnnnggg Race to 10,000 more than just a little nervous. The rumblings from the rear causes the Big Dawg, who is no small pup himself with 66, to pause momentarily from his wu digging to turn and glance briefly in IJump's direction.
Rex and our good friend serialb continue to crunch tit-for-tat with 16 and 15 at the head of the pack racing towards 4000 while the Calgary Kid begins to lose valuable ground from the third spot and GolfGeek brings up the rear. The May Mauling to 2500 continues on course with bbarnes maintaining a lead over pyxis that hovers near the 200 wu mark. A few rumblings are emanating from the middle of that pack from Ishmael2k who manages a neat 16 and nemur continues to close ranks from the back of the throng, exceeding 20 yet again and gaining valuable ground on the leaders. Admiral Engineer and The Federation are closing in on the prize in their race to crunch 3000 with Major Tom and Tuffguy remains impressive in the Race to Crunch 1000 with a Crazee Twist, today cresting 30 wu's while Mad Max has his second consecutive day over the 20 mark.
