First of all this morning, I'd like to thank Major Tom Tarca for filling in for me while I was away on business. I can see from yesterday's thread that he did an admirable job in my absence. It's nice to know that I have two capable and reliable backups ready to step up to the plate in Admiral Phiton and Major Tom should life's duties require my attention. Thanks a ton, Tom! 🙂
Lots happenning in the SRL yesterday and today. First to our winners, and we have three of them. The April Fool's 6000 has another winner as the Good Ambassador Baldy18 chugs across the finish line after stomping all over 37 workunits one day after an absolutely startling 240 wu dump. It looks as though the old Stats-O-Matic with the Race Predictor Plugin was way off on it's prediction for and ending date for this race. :Q Baldy18 reaches the coveted 6,000 wu milestone, coveted because it is the first milestone on the other side of 5K and brings the 10,000 wu Holy Grail into view in the distance. Congratulations, Baldy18! And congratulations to cakin who actually lead this race as recently as Tuesday.
We all knew it had to happen sooner or later. A gazillion spent wu's can't stay cooped up in the cargo bay forever. Captain Izzy's fine crew are unable to contain the stash any longer and with a concussive "Whuuuuump!", they burst from their confines aboard the Uss IsOs. When everything is tallied and the numbers entered into the ship's computer, the records show that Captain Izzy has nearly set a new personal best record with a phenomenal dump of 450 workunits. The amazing tally brings yet another victory to the crew of one of Starfleet's finest space-faring vessels. Congratulations, Captain! And also a word of praise for your competitor, Smokeball. Even though 500 wu's separate him from Izzy, the Biloxi Bomber's rag-tag army of crunchers was impressive to say the least, spending more day's above the 100 wu mark than below throughout the duration of the contest.
Our third winner this morning is one of TA-Seti's newest chest-pounding, ground-rattling Titans and the first from the land Down Under to qualify as a TA Titanic Tabulator. I am speaking of none other than the Awesome Aussie, Pie Derro, whose recent inflationary increase in wu whapping is allowing him to lay waste to virtually any and all TA challengers in his vicinity. This morning sees the Pie Guy cross the finish line in the Race to Crunch 3000 after filling both the spectators and his competitors with awe and wonder at his newly tamed computational power. When 150 wu days are the norm, you certainly deserve to wear the Titan moniker. Congratulations on your second victory in a week, Pie Derro!
