Woohoo! Pyxis pulverizes nine workunits to streak across the finish line in the Race to 2000 and heads towards the awards stand to pick up his golden 2K key that unlocks the door to the 2K lounge. Waiting inside for the prodigious purger is a fridge full of celebratory brewski (green of course, in honor of the approaching St. Patrick's Day holiday) and the very special 2K race babes who are twice as (ahem) hearty as the 1K babes, all ready and waiting for a nice little respite filled with intelligent conversation with the new 2K champion in the winner's hottub. Congratulations on the victory and the 2K milestone, Pyxis!
Networkman is on fire in his one-man show and go to reach 20K by June 1st! Yesterday saw the Master of Ethernet nearly broach the 100 wu daily barrier, submitting a stunning 93 as he nears the 17K milestone marker. The Race to 10,000 is definitely providing the fans with a thrill a minute! The roaring crowd witnessed yet another bodacious battle for the lead yesterday with the rogue racer in the El Camino wrestling the lead back away from lane42 despite a day where the El Camino sputtered just a bit. With three lead changes in as many days, this race to the Holy Grail of 10,000 is more than living up to it's pre-race billing as a real barn burner.
Another race on the docket also sees a lead change, this one the April Fool's 6000 where the misplaced Aggie (don't call me a Sooner) cakin has powered his fleet past Baldy18 to take a three wu lead. Something tells me that cakin had better make hay while he can because the good ambassador may have a few wu's stashed away for a rainy day. The Race to 5000 has a new entry as TeAm Confused Ai3x pops in at the head of the pack, a bit over 500 wu's in front of the Man from Miami, Eltano1. Ai3x and ConfusedBW, now officially teamed up as our British Bulldog tag team tandem, will try to do what many racers in the past have found impossible: Beat Eltano1 to the checkered flag.
KCJeeper tosses 31 into the wu grinder, earning a smilie but m2kewl continues his phenomenal run of power to extend his lead over the Jeep Man to 114. If KC can't turn on the jets and catch the streaking Kewl, his next challenge will be to hold off the hard charging conjur who is gradually creeping to within striking distance. While Ish nears the 100 wu distance from paydirt, Karsten has carnage on his mind as he has cruised all the way from last place to give himself an honest shot at a thrilling come from behind victory in the March March to 2000. The Migrooster impresses the statisticians with a 31 wu day as he battles foes on two fronts, one of them time, and the Biloxi Bomber continues to march his rag-tag army towards Captain Izzy's encampment in Izzy and Smokies Race to Crunch 3000. I fear a word of warning to Commander Smoke may be in order, though. I seriously doubt that the USS IsOs has shut down her warp core.
