Today we welcome two more rookies to the Seti Racing League. In the Race to 2250, srvblues00 settles into the lead position ahead of thecool1, but unfortunately the invite came just as the Blues Brother lost a member of the fleet, but at least he can enjoy running in front while it lasts. Welcome to the SRL, srvblues00! If you take a gander in the rearview mirror, you'll notice a Chilly Numeral already coming up fast on your tail and that cloud of smoke and dust in the distance would be the Awesome Aussie, PieDerro who is looking to master Norton Ghost and Linux before this race is over. Rumor has it that he may be giving some of the Titans a run for their money should he perfect those skills.
Our second rookie makes his debut right smack dab in the middle of the pack looking to plant the flag at 750, midway between the first two major Seti milestones. Let's everybody welcome Hoober to the SRL and give him a big Seti Salute. He pops in just as Boogie Woogie adds the Quickstep to his dancing arsenal and steps off 16 big ones to put the new guy at a thirty wu disadvantage in his first day on the job. Still cruising a good distance behind Hoober is Bigwoofer, but if yesterday's run of 17 is any indication, the Big Dawg will be hot on Hoob's trail before long.
In the Clash of the Titans, the Baz Monster, with his big toe feeling much better, apologizes to Cleveland and continues on his way once again above the 220 wu pace he maintained before. The delay could prove fatal though, as two days off the pace works out to nearly a 500 wu advancement for Titan JW. But the real dark horse in this race is the Hackster who has flirted with 200 each of the last two days. In the Race to Ceti Alpha 7, the USS IsOs, her multi-phasic shield generators working overtime, has come under the gravitational influence of Mizar III and is accelerating at an alarming pace towards the star in preparation for her second sling-shot maneuver in an attempt to catch Captain Poopsie, who has cleared the asteroid field and is back into warp.
The three racers in the Race to 6000 combine to produce a whopping 120 wu's between them as lane42 closes to less than 500 wu's of the prize with a monster dump and Moe is no slouch himself with 27. In the Race to 5000, Rowdy Ray, riding the red Rascal Rider in front of the TWTA bus, eased his way past the Wizard of Washington yesterday, offering up a small poke in the ribs with his cane on the way by, and now has his sites trained on Orange Kid who may prove a little more difficult to catch. Jumping down to the Wind Sprint to 3200, race officials were not able to reach Gul Dukat before he lobbed the disrupter grenade in Maku's path, allowing the Cardasssian to overtake the Californian as the two draw within one day of the checkered flag. Sanctions will most likely be forthcoming for the Cardie.
Crt1530 is making a move at the back of the pack in the Quickie to 3000, pounding out 47 and sparks is up to his old tricks in the Race to 3000, leaving 39 wu's cracked and burning in his wake while Icecream produces nicely with 17 and Mucman calls for reinforcements. In the Race to 2000, the British Bulldog continues on his torrid streak, today munching on 25 big wu's, drawing to within 23 workunits of Super Sukhoi. The Wildman pulls to within 50 of the prize in the Race to 1500, and serialb rattles some windows in the Battle to 1500. I hope the babes have shown up since they're being paged at the entrance of the 1K Club because Clueless has crossed over the 1K mark and is waiting in the hottub. And finally today, both combatants in the Marathon to 1000 produce impressively, Panhead with 28 and Kruptikos with 13 as they both continue their chase for glory (and beer and babes) at the entrance to quadruple digits.
