SRL workers who's job it is to make sure that 10K'ers have the bestest time they've ever had when they enter the 10K lounge have been up all night fussing and frilling, making sure that everything was ready to welcome the 76th Team Anandtecher to cross the 10K barrier through the doors. The kegs have been tapped, the Oreos of all flavors layed out on the snack trays in pretty patterns, each one kissed by a hottub babe before being tenderly placed in it's resting place and the hottub water drawn and gently perfumed with intellectually stimulating herbs and oils. All of this to welcome GhettoFob into the hallowed halls where only 75 have gone before. GhettoFob's run to 10K was inspriring to say the least as less than two weeks ago, there were at least five Teamers between him and the 10K Holy Grail. But an inspriring run of days in excess of the 200 wu mark earns GF the 76th spot and the right to wear the moniker of "SETI Stompin' Stud". Congratulations, GhettoFob, and welcome to the 10K club!
It's party time in Mighty Micron's camp as he becomes the fourth member of the 2000 WU Packet Blaster pack to earn a standing O at the finish line. The victory for Mighty Micron is most likely a bit bittersweet as he owned the early parts of this race, he and Jumpin' Jatwell thrilling the crowd with their own inspiring version of Seti fisticuffs. But strong performances from Sizzlin' Soni and the Sinister Oscillator, coupled with some unfortunately timed mechanical problems on the final lap has relegated TA-Seti's milestone stats master to the fourth slot in the batting order. Nonetheless, the crowd salutes the young racer with hoots, hollers, and tremendous foot stomping just as if he had crossed the finish line first. Whether crossing the line first or last, the race babes still love their racing boys and the party is just as hearty. Congratulations, Micron. Outstanding race!
Gertrude the Shockie Fairy was kept busy overnight delivering the shockies to the good boys and girls who produced the most wu's above their normal production. Unlike the Tooth Fairy who carefully and gently leaves presents of cash and other goodies under pillows where sleepy lads and lasses have left their baby teeth, Gertie creeps quietly into the crunchers bedrooms and smacks the sleeping muncher over the head with her huge rubber Seti stick. Hey, why do you think they call it a shockie? Sporting two shockie lumps on his head this morning is SoulAssassin who leaves 190 smoldering workunits under his pillow for Gertie in 2001: A WU Oddesy. Earning one shockie bump in the same race is Darth Polo whose 119 delivers his butt past conjur and into second place. The 2000 WU Packet Blaster is also the scene of some shockie lumps as the final racer on the track, ReaganCRW, sends the crowd into a frenzie with his awesome 146 wu power purge. The Guildford Gentleman gets one upside the head from Gertie in 1000 WU's: Muncher to Muncher. A suprising 80 from Assimilator1's fleet increases his lead by a quantum leap over a stunned Colin P who begins his search for his long lost Cray. And today's final shockie award goes to MoFunk in the Lonely Racers bracket who earns a double for his 200 wu monster mash.
