Seti Queue help

I just set this up for my local machines. How does the queue get WU's to distribute out? I'm running it on a machine which is also running seti-driver. Lets say I want to store 500 WU's here? I see no place in seti queue where I can enter this data. Plus the install instructions suck.

Help.
Thanks.

You need to have your clients send at least 1 result to the queue to get the process started. Then you need to set your min/max number of queue days to some figure that will give you that many total WUs.

Ahh, That helped. I think I understand. What is the processing stuff? keep that default and keep it off manual?

I don't know what you mean by processing stuff but SetiQ works with the default settings so I'd leave it at that for now.

The processing section allows you to have the queue:
1.) Equally try to download/upload (default) or put a priority on either
2.) Change the times for waits between WU downloads
3.) Let's you set what time it should start trying to upload/download (you can have it set to a specific time period)
4.) Let it perform pass-through (default) - where any results coming in will immediately try to upload (I have mine for disabled)
5.) The rest of the stuff you could leave as is unless you want to save a copy of each result and have it report results for more stats goodness on the Setiqueue stats site.

There's alot of settings you can mess around with but it may take you a little time to find out which settings work best for you. :)

I feel like such a retard. I've been using SetiQueue for about 9 months and never knew how to get to those settings through the web interface. I always just edited them by using the drop down menus or editing the .ini files. This is so much easier.:)

Are there help files available for setiqueue? I feel kinda stupid here, but I can't figure out how to get it to work.

I have two machines on a lan at home connected with a d-link dsl router/firewall.

A number of people at different teams have created comprehensive guides to running and configuring Setiqueue. One very good one is written by a guy currently crunching for OCUK here. :)

[EDIT: There were a few threads bumping around here from Sukhoi & ConfusedBW that may have some other info, although most of them were general client and/or service-related. :)]

Wow, thanks for that link Poof :D

My help page has some basic setup instructions for SetiQueue, enough to get it up and running, but i've added that link in case anyone wants to know anything about it!

Check out My Seti Page, has information on Seti clients, addons and SetiQ as well :)
