Yeah a 486SX doesnt have a co-processor, you would need a DX, but I really appreciate the effort anyway. Hey it would make a decent LRP router...

9.5 days!??? LMAO those Cyrix cpu's really did have a bad FPU didn't they!? .......hmm lets see ,9.5 days=228hrs ,a Pentium 100 will do a WU in about 80 hrs ,which means the Pentium is about 3x faster!:Q

My current slowest machine is a Pentium 233MMX @266MHz(76MHz FSB) ,64Mb SDRAM,CAS2,512K L2,TX chipset, this seems to do an average WU in about 31hrs which is pretty good considering my bros K6-2 @ 375 is doing virtually the same WU times!.I guess being stuck at 75MHz FSB & the weaker FPU of the K6-2 is holding things back?
Hmm ,maybe I should up his to 83MHz?

Just for stats I have a Pentium 75 with 2000 and it takes 4 days 5 hours. which is not much but since I started it has completed 25 work units!

If only I'd had the 120 mhz version instead of the 100 mhz chip. Imagine where I'd be in the standings!

It just occurred to me that that 486 might be able to do WU's if you use Linux. I seem to recall from compiling a kernel a while back that it will emulate a co-processor if one isn't present. It would be very slow but it might just work!

LOL ,my girlfriend has a 386 which I'll be pulling off a few files & then scrapping it.
