I am using SETI Driver 1.6.4.1 and setiathome-3.03.i386-winnt-cmdline

I have a P4 2.53 w/ 1GB RAM (PC2100 DDR)

What should I do to optimize my WU output when this system is idle?

Do most people leave Auto Transmit on or save up WU's for a dump?

Thanks,
Ed

you've got the ideal setup, program-wise afaik. i keep my processing priority set to idle only so my programs are least impacted by the work seti does. i also have my output directed to shux' queue so that i can track my output and also have a little extra depth to my wu storage.

as far as hardware-wise, there may be room to work if you told us a bit more information about your rig.

most people just transmit automatically. the big flushes are the individual user's choosing of course. others are confined by work bandwidth so they only transmit in the evening hours.

and of course, i'm sure others will leap in here with some more info. ... they always do. :)

Mine are all on auto transmit, but sometimes I get a box that doesn't want to so I'll get an occasional 60-70 WU flush, but I like to keep track of my daily numbers, so I avoid the flush when I can help it.

I'm using the command line client as a service and mine auto transmit. I have a local queue that is online 24 hours a day as well. I like to be able to monitor my stats to keep track of my clients. Gives me the quickest way to see if something is wrong.

Not much to add here;) ,except if your into overclocking that'll certainly boost output ,if not you could try lowering the RAM timings to cut WU time a little too

Set the cache size in SETI Driver to however many WU's your computer can process in a day or 2 or 3. Even if you check the 'Auto Transmit' sometimes Driver can't connect to the S@H server, so at least you won't run out of WU's to process.

Some people make the mistake of only D/Ling one WU at a time, then are confused when they can't connect to the S@H server & their computer sits there idle till it can connect.
