Ok, I've got a decent understanding of what it takes to O/C a machine, but I'm not sure what specific tweaks help with SETI production. Anyone know of anything specific that would boost output without pushing my machines over the edge?

(Athlon 2400, 2-512 sticks of mushkin pc2700, nf2 biostar mobo)
(Athlon 2000, 1-512 stick of generic pc2700, kt600 chipset (msi))
(Athlon 1800, 1-512 stick of generic pc2100, kt400 chipset, cant remember the mobo)

Here what I found out when oc my six machines. It depends on if you're running AMD or p4? I'll start with AMD since thats what i see in your list. You don't want the fastest overall speed, but the fastest bus speed. 13x 100 bus < 10X 133 bus They both equal 1.3 ghz but the 10X133 is much faster. Therefore lower your multiplier and increase front side bus speed while running 1:1 ratio to ram speed. Next run the lowest cas speed you can on the ram. Cas 2 will give you between 5%-7% faster time than cas 2.5. I'm still research that point where you give up the tight cas 2 ram timing vs higher front side bus. I'll let you know when I find out. Now Intel P4 is a whole different story. You still want fastest bus speed but you can throw out tight ram timing since p4 are ram bandwidth limited. Therefore raise ram cas to 3 or higher and raise vdimm voltage and run the ram as fast as it can go so it can keep up with the p4. Most of the new p4C w/ht can be overclock to ~1000 to 1200 mhz bus speed quad pump and since fastest ram run in dual channel, you will need a min. of ddr500 just to keep up on a 1:1 ratio. Thats why most p4 overclocker run a 5:4 ratio just to keep their pc3200 running stable. LMK if you need more info.

Yup, seti loves as much FSB as you can give it, and the lowest cas timing on your ram! I do a WU in 2:15 average with my 1700XP clocked to a 215MHZ FSB with tight ram settings.

Nice!!! Which chipset? Via or nForce. How much volt?
