The main SETI@Home servers stopped accepting work units from versions older than 3.03 and the older version of SETIQ does not point to the right server. If you're on the list below and you're still running SETI, you are not getting credited for production. Use the link in my sig to get to the latest version.

I had a warning window popup about 2 weeks ago saying there is a new version of SETI available and unless I d/l and install it I won't be processing any more work units. I downloaded and installed v3.03 and it's been working fine ever since then and retained my work units completed but wiped out my Total Computer Time back to 0.00

Is 68 work units something to be proud of or ashamed of? I think I started cracking SETI about 2 months ago but don't leave the PC on 24/7. Only about 4 hours a day with my 640K DSL connection and I have it running constantly with the screen saver turned on.

E.T. we know you're out there and we'll find you!!!

Rossman - 68 work units is pretty good. The SETI FAQ in my sig has good info on how to tweak the client to get more out of it, but the team is built on people like you that crack one or two work units a day. Until the power crisis hit in California, I was running my PC's 24/7 as I find that on/off cycling can be destructive.

CKY - If you're using the new client and on the team stats list, then you're helping out (and we love you <grin>).

Mmmm.... need seti@Home... Only wish I could download it.. Its kinda biased here.. Our Quality monitoring people run seti and can download from the net, but we can't.. whats the difference other than they have been here a little longer?

Send me a PM and I'll email the client to you. Just make sure you can run it. It uses port 80 and can be run as a screensaver, but make sure it is allowed at work before running it.

Just in case you haven't had a chance to look at the link ,a quick tip.

If you are running it as a screen saver go to ,diplay properties, screensaver, screensaver settings ,enable 'blank screen' & set it to less than 5mins :).
Also , if you have at least 64Mb RAM & a PII system or faster then you can set SETI to 'always run' ,this won't hurt your useage ,except perhaps games where you should turn SETI off then anyway

BTW have you joined us?

Tuffguy
I guess you forgot ,but I offered to keep you account alive :) ,send me your SETI E mail add if you want some WU's :)

You guys know that the commandline version of Seti@Home is much faster than the screensaver version? The commandline version is about 1/3 to 1/2 faster. It's available for download on the same page as the *NIX version ;)

I updated the list. If your name is one the list and it shouldn't be, just drop me a PM or, even better, post in the thread.
