Well, it's clear you haven't read the whole thread... 😛

We just had a (planned) power outage to search for electrical problems in our lab. We will coming back on-line soon and will post more news shortly.

We had a scheduled lab-wide power outage this morning in order for campus electricians to diagnose the electrical problems we've been having lately. The outage went a little longer than expected, but the good news is that three significant problems were identified, one of which was fixed as soon as it was found. The other issues require new breakers. These need to be ordered and tested before installing, so it will be a while (months) before we undergo similar outages for these upgrades.

Meanwhile, as noted below our internet link went down for several days, only to suddenly spring back to life last night. So SETI@home classic/BOINC users got to enjoy at least an evening of upload/download before the power outage this morning. We have yet to hear what happened and why.

Actually, if you've read the whole thread, especially the TITLE, that was changed at the same time added the quote on the power-outage to 1st post, there shouldn't be any reason for asking of when the outage should start in GMT...

The only later change is adding the "Everything is up again after fixing one power-problem".

Geez Assim, get with the times 😉

time, standard (GMT)
The local time on the Greenwich
meridian, based on the hypothetical mean sun (which averages
out the effects of the Earth's elliptical orbit and its tilted
axis). GMT is the basis of the civil time for the UK.

In 1925 the reference point was changed from noon to midnight
and it was recommended that the term "Universal Time" should
be used for the new GMT.

Authorities disagreed on whether GMT equates with UT0 or
UT1, however the differences between the two are of the
order of thousandths of a second. GMT is no longer used for
scientific purposes

They need to qualify that with exactly what they mean by "expected". I think by now it's generally expected that outages will last longer than stated in announcements 😛
